Sunny skies greeted the first annual Bowling Green Community Foundation Golf Outing at Stone Ridge Golf Club in 1999. In cooperation with Sky Financial, First Federal-MidAm BanK, and Cavalear Corporation, the Foundation hosted a children's golf clinic and a golf competition, including a hole-in-one contest. Prizes were given away and a steak dinner capped a fun-filled day. At the event, the Foundation presented the first of its Dorothy and Ashel Bryan Philanthropic Awards to the Bryans. Sponsors and players contributed nearly $30,000 to the Foundation's endowment.
By 2009, the annual Golf Outings benefitting Bowling Green Community Foundation has raised nearly $226,000 for the Foundation. Our sincere and well-deserved thanks go to Sky (now Huntington) Bank and all other sponsors, volunteers and participants over these past years.
2010 brought another warm, mostly sunny day and teams of golfers ready for fun and helping the Foundation raise funds for its community projects.
