GRANT AWARDS FOR YEAR 2010-11The year 2010-11 grant awards support the following projects and activities from the Bowling Green Community Foundation Unrestricted Fund, with additional funds from the Green Family Fund, Marsh Family Fund, Pallister Fund and Town/Gown Fund:· Behavioral Connections of Wood County - To support the Wood County Suicide Prevention Coalition for a suicide prevention conference. · Black Swamp Arts Festival - Funds from Cormier Fund to support the expansion of two new activities for young children in the Youth Art Area. · BG Pee Wee League -To assist in paying fees for children from families who cannot afford the registration fee. · BGSU Science in the Park - Funds from the Town/Gown Fund to support a community festival on Sept. 11 to help educate and inspire children and their parents to develop an interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. · Bowling Green Parks and Recreation - Funds from BGCF and the Marsh Family Fund to assist in the development of a skate park for youth at Bowling Green City Park. · The Cocoon Shelter - To support an economic empowerment project to help victims of domestic violence develop financial independence. · The Connection Center, a program of the Behavioral Connections of Wood County - To provide funding to purchase computers to assist individuals with mental illness obtain updated educational/job skill resources. · Dear Santa Society - To assist in providing clothing and toys for families in need as identified by Bowling Green school personnel and the Salvation Army. · Diabetes Youth Services - To support programs including camp for youth with diabetes from the Bowling Green area. · Downtown Bowling Green - To support the continuance of the newly-organized Farmer's Market in downtown Bowling Green. · Friends of Wood County CASA - To train and support volunteers to become court appointed special advocates for neglected and abused children from the Bowling Green area./span> · Children's Resource Center - To purchase materials for screening young children with sensory processing dysfunction. · Wood County District Public Library - To support the library's summer reading program. · Wood County District Public Library - Funding from BGCF and the Pallister Fund for the "Page Turners!" initiative, a program that allows community leaders the opportunity to share books that made a difference in their lives through the use of the library's Web site and Facebook.

The year 2010 grant awards also supported the following projects and activities from the Marsh Family Fund:· BGHS Graduating Seniors - two $1,000 scholarships to Owens Community College.>
The year 2010-11 grant awards totaled $29,204. Since 1997, when the Bowling Green Community Foundation was established, the organization has distributed $216,805 to 146 different community non-profit organizations.
